Since 2002, more than 180,000 women in the United States will learn for the first time that they have breast cancer, and more than 40,000 women will lose their lives. Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women in America. However, early detection and prompt treatment can significantly reduce the suffering and deaths caused by this disease. alpha Kappa Delta Phi, the first and largest national Asian interest sorority, proudly promotes this as our National Philanthropy - Breast Cancer Awareness. Breast Cancer Awareness is a project dedicated to increasing public knowledge about the early detection of breast cancer. In addition to Breast Cancer Awareness, alpha Kappa Delta Phi continues to dedicate ourselves to promoting community service, not only in the University, but also throughout our surrounding communities.
